H&M and ...

H&M is part of the uniform on today's high street all over the UK. It is known for its stylish basics and very on trend but still low cost statement pieces. It has a unique place in the market which appeals to a very large target market. It provides everyone with on-trend fashion but on a realistic budget. It has grown over the years and has become accustomed to designer collaborations - Starting off with Comme des Garcons, progressing to Viktor & Rolf and Karl Lagerfield. But the up and coming collaboration is possibly the most exciting yet. H&M is collaborating with the legendary Versace.. SCREAM! 
Donatella herself said in this month's edition of Vogue " I was free to give the pure spirit of Versace by choosing and updating the iconic pieces from the past right to the present day"

Her collection will be made up of 40 pieces ranging from golden oversized jewellery to the iconic '91 key-pattern skirt and jacket (pictured). Launching on November 17th (a week after my birthday!!) I'll meet you in the queue!

New York Fashion Week

So today is the start of the shows of New York Fashion Week. Luckily for us mere people who were unable to make it in the amazing NYC , they have advanced technology enough to allow live streaming through YouTube. FAABB! Fresh Start.

Having not blogged in a while and starting back at college, I have been inspired to start it up again and will try my hardessttt to blog frequently and not just about rubbish! I hope that I provide people with inspiration and also help myself with ideas.

Personal Style

At college today, we talked about our personal style and how we dress, what styles we go for and all things fashion-y. 

It got me thinking about my style which i found hard to define, the other girls have such a defined style and feel like i don't yet know mine. Although we did find out i wear alot of black grey and silver - how boring! but it works for me and that's what matters. 

Everyone's style is different and everyone wears fashion and trends differently, so its not so much about fitting in or dressing how everyone else does because style is personal and what might look good on your friend might not look good on you.

Style Icons

style n. The way in which something is said, done, expressed, or performed
icon n. An image; a representation

When someone says 'Style Icon' you immediately think of someone like Keira Knightley, Jennifer Aniston, Coco Chanel, whoever is yours. But, to me a Style Icon is someone who is not just stylish but is dramatic and exciting. Lady Gaga, not the most 'on trend' but she takes fashion to a whole new level and her style is always spoken about - that is an icon. Plus, she's been on the cover of Vogue, enough said. But style icons are not just the ones who wear things from the hottest catwalk, they take fashion and they explore it, eventually creating a garment that is iconic in every way. 

A new beginning!

Sooo, started a fashion blog. Don't reeeally know how to start but going to go for mentioning the outstanding Lady Gaga and her new video.
Never one to follow the crowd she is a bold and exciting artist who has put out her style for the world to see. She has her own fashion house - Hous of Gaga, but also uses designers and the butchers?

 First starting out normal - ishhh

Her new video is a bit hard to explain and is verrrryyy different to everything out just now but i think i like it :)
